Updated Information from The City of Van

The State and Federal Government has declared a State of Emergency to deal with the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The City of Van has been monitoring and participating in conference calls with State and Federal Officials to receive the latest information and recommendations to ensure the health and safety of the citizens. Practicing good hygiene is the biggest step everyone can take to help prevent the spread of this virus. There is no need to stockpile essential household goods, all emergency services will always be operational including the water and wastewater systems.

The Van Community Library and Weekly Story Time Activity will be closed indefinitely. Other closures include the use of the Van Community Center, Old Movie House, and City Parks are closed to organized activities. The city is going to use this time to deep clean and disinfect these facilities. Please watch the City Facebook page and our website for updates and any changes.

City Hall will be open during this time, but we do request that you utilize the drop box behind city hall for utility payments or the online option for paying utility payments. Another change is only one person at a time will be allowed in the lobby of city hall for those that must come in person to pay utility bills or take care of municipal court business.
